Brief Answer: Not due to pregnancy. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. Having a heavy period earlier than the expected date rules out the pregnancy. This can happen due to a mild hormonal disturbance; stress; anxiety; excessive exercise; change in diet; travelling etc. If the bleeding gradually decreases in next 3-4 days then there is no need to worry. This can happen once in a while. But in case the heavy bleeding is persistent and such episodes are recurrent then you need to start with hormonal therapy to regularize your periods after consulting your gynecologist. Till then start taking iron supplements to combat the excessive blood loss from your body. Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
