Question : Hi Dr, I experienced my 2nd UTI last sunday with blood and pain. I was prescribed cipro for 3 days and it got rid of the blood, burning, and pain very well. By wednesday, I wasn't feeling the symptoms anymore. However, once Saturday and once Sunday, I felt a bit of urge to urinate again/felt like my bladder wasn't completely emptied and had that urge to go back to the bathroom when I didn't really have anything to urinate.
Is this normal to experience as part of the recovery process from an UTI? My last UTI went away very quickly without these lingering symptoms. Should I be concerned? I'm not feeling any burning or pain anymore though.
Help!

Brief Answer:
it not fully cured yet
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your query and understand your concern.
If you are still having increased frequency and urgency, then your UTI has not been cured completely. Else it is not concerning.
If symptoms persist or recur again, I would suggest that you take a full course of antibiotic for 7 days and add a urine alkalizer like potassium citrate or magnesium citrate to it for a better cure. But you need to visit your local doctor again for the prescription.
Also drink plenty of fluids to prevent relapse.
Hope I have been helpful.
