Question : hi, my husband has had fever,chills,body aches,and general fatigue. He wentto his Dr on Friday and they thought maybe it was west nile virus,those results came back negative but he was put on an antibiotic Doxicycl. What has me baffled is that these systems come and go..just an hour ago he couldn't move had a fever over 101 b/p of 190/96 ..ad now he got up ate a bowl of oatmeal and feeling decent again..I am just baffled.. thank you for your time
on a side note ..this cycle has been happening for days

Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that your husband might be having a viral fever. Some investigations are needed :-
1. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ).
2. Liver Function Test ( LFT ).
3. Antigen test for malaria.
4. Urine examination ( Routine / Microscopic and Culture / Sensitivity ).
Also get his blood pressure and heart rate monitored.
He can take paracetamol 500 mg three times a day for relief from his symptoms. He may complete the course of antibiotic prescribed by his doctor. It usually takes 7-10 days for complete recovery. He should drink lots of water daily.
A clinical evaluation by your doctor and the reports of the above mentioned investigations will help in planning further medical management.
