What Causes Persistent Fever And Pus Cells In Urine Despite Medications?
My kid is suffering from fever for the last 2 days. Fever is about 102 and when we give him the medicine the fever comes down and again after few hours its come up again to 100-101. He is having his food regularly, drinking milk and playing actively, but the fever never comes to normal. Got his CBP, Blood test for malarial parasite and Urine Reports. Showed no malarial parasite found, but in CBP showed WBC cells as 3600, RBC-4.0 plateletcount 1.7, Haemoglobin - 12.0. Urine report shows pus cells - 4-6 /HPF and Epethielial cells as 4-6 / HPF. overall in CBP report written as WBC shows LEUCOPENIA. Jut want to know is everything fine or any serious in my kids health
Leucopenia is a condition, where white cells in the blood are decreased. It may be transient, which resolves itself, as the cause is treated. Usually it may be due to presence of infections, which consume white cells to fight against disease. Here in this case, urine infection, may be a cause.
However, if the fever does not subside after treatment with analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen and treatment with antibiotics in a few days, a detailed investigation for the cause and treatment accordingly is indicated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
