What Causes Irregular Moles On Body?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have taken note of your query and I have understood your concern. I have also reviewed the Images.

In one of the images with 2 nevi..
the one on the left side looks possibly dysplastic to me. It has uneven color distribution i.e much darker in the center, though it is well defined and symmetrical.
The other one in this Image, on the right side, looks like a normal nevus i.e well defined, oval/round with uniform color distribution.

The second and third Images look Ok to me.

In the first Image i can see an irregularly pigmented nevus with irregular margins and asymmetry and it looks dysplastic to me though the Image is not very clear and if you can upload another clear image of this nevus it would be of great help.

I suggest a dermoscopic clinical examination by a dermatologist for a better evaluation.

I would like to know whether any of these nevi have changed over the last 6-12 months i.e in terms of size, shape, color, borders, bled/ ulcerated etc?

Is there a personal Or family history of melanoma?

Here is a clearer picture of the first image. No moles have changed in a year. No bleeding, etc.

This one looks dysplastic to me. It is asymmetrical and varying shades of color.
I suggest a dermoscopic examination by a dermatologist and it can be freezed if also confirmed to be dysplastic on dermoscopy.

Hi.

I am sorry. My intention was not to terrify you.
Not all dysplastic nevi would turn into melanomas. In fact most dysplastic nevi do not ever turn into a melanoma and melanomas may arise independent of dysplastic nevi.
Yes, I cannot be specific and it is clinically not possible to differentiate between dysplastic nevus and early melanoma.
Moreover, clinically it is sometimes really hard to tell with conviction whether a particular nevus is even dysplastic. A skin biopsy or a dermoscope helps in such doubtful cases.
Therefore I suggest that you present yourself for a close clinical examination with your dermatologist.

Hi.

I have received an Image of lesion on forehead. Did'nt receive the axilla one.

In this Image I can see a pink/ skin colored nodule on forehead.
I would like to keep a few differential diagnoses... this could either be an intraepidermal nevus, trichoepithelioma Or a basal cell carcinoma.

I would suggest an excision biopsy for histopathalogical confirmation. The whole of this lesion would be removed by excision biopsy, would be curative.

Did you visit a dermatologist today? What was the outcome of your visit?

Hi.

The last image i received is probably of side of face.
It looks like a freckle or an age spot. It is not a cause for concern.
Yes i cannot be absolutely sure with all of them, particularly looking at them from a distance with a naked eye.
Certainly a few of them did look suspicious/ dysplastic to me & i would suggest a close examination with a dermoscope.
I hope you will keep me informed about what your dermatologist says.
