Brief Answer:
Urticaria, rule out pinworm infestation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, greetings!
Thanks for posting your query on hcm.
It sounds like you are suffering from urticaria.
For this, you may start tablet FEXOFENADINE 120 mg in the night after dinner for a week. This is a prescription medicine. Apply calamine lotion on the itchy area. Wear loose, cotton clothes and maintain personal hygiene.

Try this regime for a week.
If it doesn't resolve, we may look at other diagnosis like pinworm infestation. For this, your local doctor will have to perform a tape test to confirm the diagnosis.
This can be treated by tablet pyrantel taken orally.

If you have any further doubts/clarifications, please feel free to ask.
Regards,
Dr. Sonia

Dear Doctor,
Thanks for your reply.
The itchy area is between ears to the waist excluding limbs and face area. At present the itching is subdued. Is it still possible that pinworm may be present?

Brief Answer:
Not likely

Detailed Answer:
Doesn't seem likely.
If the itching is not below the waist, then you may exclude the possibility of pinworms.
Continue with the treatment of urticaria as I suggested.
I hope you get well soon.
