Brief Answer:
There can be various causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

There can be various causes for a generalized skin rash. If you can send a picture, it will be of great help. Common causes are allergic (drug or other), infectious(bacterial or parasites), autoimmune, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX syndrome, skin lymphoma, etc.

If it is not resolving with benadryl and calamine, we should look for causes other than allergic. An examination by dermatologist followed by skin biopsy, if required, should clinch the diagnosis. Then appropriate treatment can be initiated.

Hope this helps.
Regards
