What Causes Large Red Pimple On Back?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Nov 2014
Question: I have a spot on my back that started out as a small round ball with a black dot. It didn't hurt at first but once I pushed on it, it turned red and became very large.

I thought it was a pimple and tried to pop it but not much came out and it became very sore. it is hard around the spot, red and has several pus spots plus it is draining.

Brief Answer:
Visit a doctor because it is infected.

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir

Welcome to healthcaremagic.

I understand your concern.I read your your query carefully. By the image you attached , it seems to be like a cellulitis or a furuncle (depending on the size).

Since you have touched and pricked it , it has been infected leading to pus formation. You need to take antibiotic course for 5 days to cure that infection. Please visit your nearest doctor and get treated as fast as possible before it gets worse.

Hope it helped.Take care.
