Posted on Sat, 29 Aug 2015
Question: Just noticed a few small lumps near the base of my uvula, just wondering what those might be? No pain or soreness of the throat, and I don't feel sick. Included is a picture of the area.

Brief Answer:
You are most probably having vesicles at base of uvula due viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , seen your picture and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history & picture it appears that you are most probably having vesicles at base of uvula due to mild viral infection with post nasal discharge (PND). PND is present in your throat picture.

Sore throat is usually not the primary symptom. Nasal symptoms, such as sneezing, watery nasal discharge, nasal congestion, or post nasal discharge (PND) occurs before throat symptoms. Throat symptoms can be in the form of soreness, scratchiness, or irritation.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
Antiseptic Mouth Wash twice daily like Betadin &
Antihistaminic Tab Claritin (Loratadine 10mg) at night .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
