Brief Answer:
its complication of the surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

This feeling of nausea and difficulty in beltching and bloating is a common complications of gerd surgery. It occurs due to a little extra tightening of the lower esophagus resulting in reduced relaxation to let out gas accumulated in the stomach.

I would suggest that you start on a gastrokinetic medicine like levosulpride (in consultation with your treating doctor) to enhance gastric emptying and releive your symptoms.

Till then eat less in quantity and no aerated drinks or gas producing foods.

Hope i have been helpful.

Will the symptoms subside and how long does this last? So this is normal in some people to feel this way?

Brief Answer:
yes it is normal for some people.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

No one can tell how long these symptoms will last. But you will slowly learn, with experience, which foods to avoid, and the gastrokinetic drugs will also give you some relief.

With time, you will also learn how to releive gas and distension. All you need to do know is to relax and start accepting life as it comes to you, as stress will increase the gastritis and your symptoms.

Will this subside on it's own the nausea or will I have this for ever. My anxiety is really kicking in because my doctors will not give me any kind of answers. I have not been to work because I feel so sick. I heard from other people that it just goes away in time. I am allergic to Reglan. I just asked my doctor to see if he can prescribe me some.

Brief Answer:
it should improve with time

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yes it should improve with time. That's for sure.

If you are allergic to Reglan, go for levosulpride.

I know its stressful but taking stress is not going to help, so why take it. Try to calm down, things will slowly fall in place.

And keep moving after a meal to help in easy descent of food down for early relief.
