You asked for more info her goes.
1. Do not have diabetes -had test recently as have sugar in urine.
2.Do not smoke.
3.Had sore throat 2 years ago for weeks so diagnosed by specialist with reflux was on pantroprazole take one tablet daily half an hour before food. Went off them a few months ago before I started taking doxycycline 50 mg for dermatitis on the face. Do not currently have sore throat.4.Dermatitis coincides with going off contraceptive pill XXXXXXX which I was put on in my twenties for skin problems. Was informed by a doctor that it is linked with stroke so therefore I should go off XXXXXXX Now on micronelle 30 ED.
5..Also using cream Epiduo 0.1% / 2.5% gel apply at night.
5 Asthma medication seretide 250/25 one puff a day then rinse throat.
Have been off doxycycline for 5 days no sense of taste still.
6. Had nasty tooth extraction Dec 2013. 5 days later different dentist had to pull out stitches and bone and bits of tooth and grind my jaw. On painkillers meloxicam 15mg, naproxen 500mg, zydol. Antibiotic simpletan. Woke up on morning with numbness in right foot. (Maybe from lying in bed too much in pain) Numbness in foot took 3 months to go away then 6 months later came back again. Gone again recently! had slight tingling in fingertips that's gone now. Seeing neurologist can't get in till XXXXXXX next year when he comes to country town I live in.
Have had numbness around lips for 4months before I started taking Doxycycline.
10 years ago I had symptoms of feeling like my bladder was full when it was empty. Checked out by urologist could not find anything. Told by GP was psychological. Went away after months for 8 years then came back again and went again! Got referral to urologist but haven't booked yet due to my experience 10 years ago of being told it was psychological. GP suggested might have cystitis or irritable bladder.
Have had therapy for depression. Had a baby who died in the womb at 8 months pregnant 17 years ago. Traumatic time afterwards womb would not shut down. had D and C then haemoraged again in hospital on 3 antibiotics on a drip for 5 days. Stopped producing progesterone so my two subsequent children are from the drug clomid. Not working any more due to mental health. Lucky husband career has soared and we are financially sound.
Years ago I was on antibiotic that took away sense of taste and it returned within a week of going off it.
Could be suggestions above from you 1,2,and 5!!
Whats my next step go back on reflux drug?
Immunised for hep a and b.
Where to go from here?

Please consider in details

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am
Thanks for your reply and detailed description

I will try to answer all of your questions
Since you have already tested for diabetes and you are not diabetic it's good news but sugar in urine is suspicious so you need to recheck your blood sugar Fasting and post prandial.

You don't smoke, which is good as smoking causes various harmful effects on body and also produces bad test as well.

Tooth extraction can injure small nerve on the mouth and might be responsible for numbness in tongue but in your case it was 2 years back so it can't be.

Contraceptive pills sometimes may cause numbness or bad taste in mouth but on your case it's unlikely.

Use of antibiotics is generally associated with bad taste or mettalic taste at times
Now you are no longer on any antibiotics and it doesn't have long residual effect after discontinuation, so need not to worry about all these

Yes, acid reflux can cause bad taste and numbness as well
To avoid acid reflux I would advise you cetrain life style and dietary modifications along with anti acidity medicines
Avoid fried spicy and junk food or carbonated drinks
Have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables
Plenty of dietary fibers
lemon water, curd or yoghurt will be beneficial to you

Since you are going to a neurologist so He/she can rule out any nerve lesion or organic cause for it after a series of tests about which he/ she is aware of.
Here I would like to know if you feel any muscle weakness either in tongue or in mouth cavity
any issue with chewing food, please let me know?

If it doesn't subside with even correction of acid reflux and examination by a neurologist, than it could be psychological, so you need to visit a psychiatrist for further management.

You can take multivitamins and minerals supplements to correct nutritional deficiency if any.

You can take vaccines for hepatitis A And B both as both have different indications it has nothing to do with acid reflux.

Hope this answers your questions
Best wishes
