Brief Answer:
Peripheral neuropathy to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, peripheral neuropathy, a condition characterized by peripheral nerves damage from different causes, should be considered and evaluated further as a possible cause of your son's symptoms since MRI resulted negative.

Conditions related to peripheral neuropathy include diabetes, viral infections, low vitamin levels in the B complex group, alcohol use, autoimmune diseases, side effects of drugs, etc.

Another possible condition that may result in such symptoms is multiple sclerosis, but if the brain was included in MRI examination, this condition is very unlikely.

It is necessary that your son to be evaluated by a Neurologist about these conditions.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
