Question: I have used a herbalist and the natural supplements have worked where the symptoms disappear but return after 2yrs. This is a combination - my tongue shape and my body overheats when I sleep, I dont have a temperature when this happens. Think of a bottle cap and the edges circling the cap, my tongue outer shape has these curves and my scalp, my back and buttocks gets overly hot and my linen will feel moist from the perspiration

Brief Answer:
Can be due to Hyperthyroidism. Needs investigations.

Detailed Answer:
It's Dr. Hanif with a warm welcome. Thanks for visiting and trusting HCM. I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns.

PROBABLE CAUSES:
The symptoms you described are usually seen in patients with thyroid disease where the glands related to body metabolism gets overactive. The thyroid glands are located in front neck and due to disease there is lack of heat tolerance, excessive perspiration without actually having a temperature.

Other symptoms may also include:
Weight loss.
Trembling hands and fingers.
Palpitations and racing heart.
Rapid pulse.

MANAGEMENT OPTIONS:
You need to consult an ENDOCRINOLOGIST in person for thorough evaluation and to rule out the cause of issue. He will need to go for baseline laboratory investigations and the thyroid function tests plus scanning to see the pathology if any related to thyroid.

Other causes include Diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Your Primary care physician can rule them out and if positive can either treat by himself or can refer you to the Endocrinologist as he is the personnel trained to treat such diseases with success.

Once diagnosed properly treatment can be focused to cure the disease accordingly.

FINAL SUGGESTIONS:
Please ask your Primary care Physician to refer you to Endocrinologist. Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to help. In future for a fast and direct consultation from me use this link ( http://tinyurl.com/drhanifmd ) and I will be with you in no time to solve your health issues.
