What Causes Pain And Tingling Sensation In Upper Arm?

Question: It feels like I have been punched in my upper left arm. There is no tingling, just a sensation of having been punched. It comes and goes, and hurts more sometimes than others for about a month now. I am 52 years old and obese, non-smoker.
