What Causes Pain In Lower Left Back, Hip And Left Testicle?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Jun 2016
Question: I'm 31 years old. I do have acid reflux and still drink and smoke. I know that's not good. I been having a dull achy pain in my lower left back but only for 3 days and not straight that comes and goes. I have the same dull achy pain on my left side right above my hip and in my left testicular. Now I have the pain sort of in my left abdominal lower side and into my pelvic area to the right of my left hip. It comes and goes. Can you tell me what you think it is. When I do have a lot of gas and I feel the gas in my stomach it goes down or up from my left abdominal side. I went to the doctor and one said it could be kidney stones but I don't think so they did a urine sample and everything came back well. I do have a slip disc in my lower back. Again, I do have a lot of gas and I feel it from my left side that comes through my chest. I don't have heart burn. Do you think this is serious or it could be ibs. I do have anxiety so please let me know what you think and if you would be worried or do you think it's minor. Can this be caner or kidney problems? Also, when I burp or release gas and put my had on my lower left side of my abdomen I have the gas going down my tract or whatever it is right where my hand is.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. You are reporting to have a slip disc in your lower back. This finding can explain the pain that you are describing because it start on lower left back and till to the hip.
2. On the other hand you are concerned about a lot of gas. Acid reflux , hyperacidity and smoking with alcohol can cause high gas forming and aggravate IBS.
So I can say that your symptoms like abdominal gas may be related with IBS .
3.Otherwise the pain that you describe is more usually related with slip lower back problem.
Your symptom are not suggestive for cancer.
With regards to kidney problems, it may mimic your pain .This is why I suggest to do an abdominal ultrasound and urinay tract.
Meantime I suggest to :
-stop alcohol ans smoking
- use PPi for acid reflux
-eat often and small amount of meal
-avoid air swallow
-avoid foods gas forming like beans and broccoli
-use simethicone
-avoid constipation
- use 2-3 lt water per day.
-Use pain killers to improve back pain

Hope it was helpful to you!

How about the same pain I am having in my left testicle, it's the same pain in my lower back and hip. My lower back doesn't hurt too often but when the pain is here it's main in my lower hip, buttcheek and testicle. Also, in front of my left hip on my left side under the belly button I guess on the pelvic area that is where I am having a dull achy pain as well. When I bend over I feel like something is there but there is not lump or anything but that front area hurts often but just a dull achy pain. What do you think that is? IBS?

Detailed Answer:
Hi back and sorry for my late response .

With regards to the pain that starts to the back and is the same on testicule and hip, it seems to be related with slip back problems . The pain that you describe seems to be located were the back nervous system is located . In cases such yours that there is a lower back problem it may affect one of the main nervous of these region that is prolonged till to the hip.
You are reporting too about a dull ache in lower abdomen. This kind of of pain may be related with IBD.
So I think that you jave two problems that can explain your different tope pains.
The first is back problem that causes the pain starts in lower back, left testicle and hip.
The second problem is related probably with IBS and causes dull ache pain in lower abdomen.
Hope it was helpful to you!

Last question the main problem I am having is that dull ache pain in my lower pelvic area on my left side. To explain it better it's right above my left testicle that left pelvic area. This pain happens just about every day and it comes and goes. Is this a symptom of IBS? If not what do you think it is. Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
With regards to the pain on left testicule it may be related with IBS, if it comes and goes during the day.
But if the pain is constant and starts to the lower back and than goes to the left testicule than it may be related with back issues.
Hope it was helpful to you!
