Brief Answer:
intestinal pain usually

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The most common source of intermittent pain is the intestine. Too much gas or an irritated diverticulum may cause pain. The irritable bowel syndrome is a common cause of intestinal pain.

Other potential causes may include renal stones descending to the bladder, intestinal tumors, pelvic inflammation, etc.

I would consider the functional pain (irritable bowel syndrome) the most common cause because of the intermittent nature and the lack of other symptoms like fever etc.

A visit to your doctor would be very helpful to exclude the most urgent causes like diverticulitis etc

I hope you find my comments helpful!
