Question : I drank way too much coffee on accident and now 7 hours later i am still having major panic attack/anxiety. Am wondering if it is safe to take ativan? Or if i should to to ER. I have ativan presciption at my house. Also i am not throwing up but diarrhea. Please advise.

Caffeine is known to cause stimulation and this may aggravate anxiety. It is known to cause panic attacks. In such conditions benzodiazepines can prove useful. If you have proper prescription of Ativan then you can take it, it will help in reducing anxiety and will calm you and will prevent any visit to ER.
