Question: I am concerned about ovarian cancer,,,I have had pelvic pain on my right side, along with low deep back pain for months, also frequent urination, and very heavy bleeding...I had tvu which came back normal, pelvic exam he said everything felt normal, also had a ct scan no contrast and that said adnexa was unremarkable, should I just chalk this up to periomenopause, or have more test.. I am healthy 51 year old..do not smoke and am not overweight

Brief Answer:
No need to get further investigations for ovarian carcinoma

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Pelvic pain and increased frequency of urination can be due to urinary tract infection and heavy bleeding is common in perimenopausal age group.
Normal CT and ultrasound rules out any ovarian cancer as it is easily detected on these investigations.
There is no need to get more test for ovarian carcinoma.
I will suggest you to get your urine examination done and get antibiotics if infection detected.
You can continue the medications as advised by your doctor.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
