What Causes Persistent Diarrhea After Every Meal?

Question : I have diarrhea 15 to 30 minutes after my first meal of the day. Which is usually after 12:00 noon. I do not eat breakfast. The rest of the day I seem ok. I do have a lot of gas.

You are reporting ti have diarrhea only once per day after first meal.
I need to know more about your symptoms like:
- how long are you haveing these symptoms
- did you use antibiotic previous to these symptoms
- the feces are liquid? and what color?
-do you have fever?.
otherwise your symptoms may be related with :
- IBS
- mild c.difficile infection
- bacterial gut misbalance.

Hi Doctor Klerida,
Here are the answers to your questions.

I have been having these symptoms for 6-8 months. They have been worse the last 2 months.

I do not take antibiotics or anything else for these symptoms. You are the first doctor I have spoken to about these symptoms.

Feces are 100% liquid and brown. Once in a while there is something soft. There is a lot. I feel it is like everything I ate the day before.

I do not have a fever.

I do have a little cramping but not often and it is not painful. More like a nuisance pain.

I also have noticed that since this has gotten worse I do not get hungry very often.

Also it used to be I could feel the diarrhea coming on. But in the past two days I had not warning at all. I had to change my clothes it came on so fast.

Please let me know if you need more information. I would like to find out what this is. I am getting very concerned and very frustrated.

Thank you for providing more of your medical data.
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. First of all you need to be examined with:
- colonoscopy
- fecal culture test
- fecal test for ova parasite
- fecal test for malabasorbtion
- abdominal ultrasound
2. To my opinion your symptoms may be related with :
- malabsorbtion
- large bowel tumor
- large bowel infection.
3. Meantime I would suggest to :
- take plenty of water
- use probiotics
- avoid sugary foods
