Question : have had the hiccups constantly for the past five days. They come and can last for hours. They will go away but they’ll come back if I eat, drink or burp. At times with no warning for no reason at all. AT TIMES THEY WILL REPEAT SO RAPIDLY I WILL INHALE BUT THEN FEEL I CANNOT EXHALE OR BREATH. I FORCE AN EXHALE AS IF I WERE COUGHING TO EXHALE AND START BREATHING AGAIN OR I FEEL I AM SUFFOCATING!.

I have gone very carefully through your query.

Take Metochlorpromide 10 mg thrice daily for hiccups.
It has an antagonist activity at D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the central nervous system hence supresses the signals for hiccups.
Its not OTC.
