Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Bronchovascular Markings

These comprise of 98 % vessels, mainly veins.

Increased Markings

This always means either Infection in respiratory passages or fluid overload. Infection may be acute or chronic. If radiologist reports increased bronchovascular markings but clinical situation is not supporting any thing it can be ignored and film should be taken as normal.

In cardiac failure cases so called reversal of pattern of markings occur. There is increase in markings in midzones due to fluid overload. Actually this is not reversal. This is only increase in midzones.

In chronic bronchitis markings are increased.

So in your report it means that in lung bases vessels are prominant now it can mean something if your are having a background disease or it might be nothing.

Plate atelectasis means very minor.lung collapse this usually is seen in people who have old COPD due to smoking mostly or chronic infections..

Absencd of infiltrate means no evidence of clear cut infection pus or fluid filled compartmenta was seen( which is a good news)

No effision was there means there is no fluid collection around the lung..fluid can collecr in infections..heart kf kidney failures so it is checked in Xray.

Though I would have liked to know your history and back ground of this testing and your visit to pulmonologist to help you better in this regard.

Ihope this answered your question, a
if you have more please feel free to ask.

Regrads.
