What Causes Pressure In Head Along With Rash On Right Forearm?

Question: Went to dr on april 29th for infection around fingernail on right hand ring finger. I also work on a farm and had accidentally got some compost, basically dead oozzing animal (dead chickens to be exact)on the cut and it burned so I cleaned asap but a blister arose up on the finger shortly after He gave Doxycycline 100mg 2 per day for 10 days for finger infection. May 7th, last day of doxy, I got sick with severe runny nose and ran 101 degrees all night long. Next day on May 8th I seen another doctor because mine was off. He treated me for sinus infection and gave me a shot of rocephin and 7 day supply of Levaquin. Fever subsided that night. The next night May 9th I went to ER and seen another doc because I had a quarter sized red round rash come up on my right forearm on the top side. He said it looked like a staff infection and also took my blood and sent it off to check for tick fever, but that takes like a week to get results and I do not have that info yet. He also x-rayed my lungs because drainage from the sinus infection had gotten in my lungs and he said I had Bronchitis. He gave me a shot of gentamicin and cleocin. Also prescribed 10 day supply of clindamycin 300mg 3 times daily. I started the oral capsules on May 11th. As of tonight I have taken 8 of the capsules and have 22 left. I do feel better but I still have pressure in my head like the sinus infection did not clear up completely, although my nose is somewhat clear now. My lungs are also clearer and I've coughed up a lot of very thick yellow and brown mucus. I have not ran a fever since May 9th. Today is May 13th, My concern is that about 4 hours ago I noticed a second red rash on my top of my wrist on the outside ball shaped bone. It is only about half the size of the original round rash that I seen the dr for on May 9th. Also the original rash is still present and has not gone away. I also took my temp and noticed that for the first time in 4 days I was running a low grade fever again, 99.2 or 99.3 in that range. When not sick I am usually in the 97 degree range. So my concern is all these shots and anitbiotics and tonight another rash spot shows up and I am showing signs of starting up a fever again. No fever now, but I have petechiae in the roof of my mouth. They are pretty big, not the small red type but larger more brown colored. 9 of them in the roof of my mouth and 3 on lower gums. still taking clindamycin 3 times a day

Brief Answer:
You don't have Fever.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

I went through your full query and I can understand that its been quite a tough time with respect to health in past few weeks . Now let me take issues one by one .

1. Pressure in the head : Most likely your Sinus congestion has not yet subsided. Since you are already on antibiotics I recommend in addition you do Steam inhalation with Eucalyptus oil 2-3 times a day.

2. Rash : Is the second rash similar to that of the first rash. Does the rash itch ?
This rash needs more evaluation . If you could upload a picture of it , it will be very useful . Staph infection is a strong possibility as the antibiotic used may not work on Staphylococcus.

The other possibility is Tick Bite or drug induced allergic reaction.

3. Petechiae : Could be due to drug induced allergic reaction or due to Viral infection or due to drop in platelet count ( can happen due to multiple antibiotic consumption ) .

4. Fever : A temperature of 99.3 is still normal and doesn't signify anything abnormal . So kindly keep monitoring your temperature.

My advises :

1. Kindly upload the picture of rash.
2. Get Complete Hemogram test done ( to check for your platelet levels )
3. Get the blood test reports that was done initially for the first rash.
4. Steam Inhalation.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .

Regards.
