Question : I occasionally get a reddish purplish discoloration on my earlobes. It seems to happen abruptly and
and goes away in a few days. There isn't any pain or swelling. Should I be concerned? Is this a
symptom of some hidden medical problem?

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
This could be an indication of a disorder called cryoglobulinemia - it can cause this type of symptoms when the body is exposed to cold temperatures.

It would be reasonable to discuss this with your primary care doctor who may have you see a hematologist for further discussion.

Sincerely,
