Brief Answer:
follow doctor's instructions

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and thanks for the query,

There are 2 types of chronic (longstanding) ear infections.
1) Safe type - can wait for surgery till child is 14 years old.
2) Unsafe type - surgery should be done as soon as possible since chances of complications is high.

From the prescriptions that you have uploaded the doctor feels it is unsafe type hence he has advised surgery.

Sclerosis in mastoids suggests that infection has been present for a long time.

Your doctor is probably waiting for infection to settle a little bit so that he can take a better decision.
When there is lot of infection, the pathology may not be very apparent, so frequently we wait for the infection to subside to analyse better.

Therefore as a whole the treating surgeon is doing the right job.

- What kind of operation will be done ? Will it be Major or minor . What is the success percentage ? Can it recur after operation ?
Is it possible to do the surgery of eardrum repair along with surgery of sclerosis ? I have heard that without eardrum repair the probablity of problem recurring is always there. Pls guide

Brief Answer:
kind of operation will depend on the disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The type of operation, success, recurrence and hearing improvement will depend upon the type of disease and the extent of it.

The drum will be repaired, hearing mechanism if diseased will also be repaired and also disease in the mastoid if present will be cleared. Any surgeon will do all of the above.
