What Causes Rapid Resting Heart Rate And Dizziness?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Dec 2014
Question: Hi, I have a rapid resting heart rate, I'm lightheaded, easily fatigued and have a headache. Usually I feel better after resting, but not at the moment. This started a few weeks ago but seems to be getting worse. Do I just need to see my primary care, or should I go to the ER?

Brief Answer:
sounds like arrhyyhmia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.
I think I would be able to help you.

The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of arrhythmia. Arrhythmia is a condition in which the heart doesn't beat at a regular pace that is usually normal for it. Therefore, the person with arrhythmia feels his heart is racing and often is uncomfortable. The insufficient blood pumped out from the heart also makes one breathless, light headed and fatigued.

Ideally, I recommend holter monitoring test to any patient who comes to me with these symptoms. I prefer to admit the patient to the hospital for this and other tests as well like hemoglobin and creatinine need to done. I think I will suggest the same to you.

However, since you have had the same symptoms for a few weeks now, I do not recommend rushing to Er. However, an evaluation is definitely in order.

I recommend meeting a cardiologist.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible.
I hope that the information helps you.

Best of luck.

Actually the constant rapid heart rate just started. The fatigue has been going on for weeks. If the arrhythmia has been going on for a while, but it's more intense this morning. Does that make a difference?
