What Causes Rashes Throughout The Body While On Amoxicillin?
Question: Hi doctor
My 4 yrs old had an ear infection and she was prescribe amoxixilyn for 10 days and today day 9 she has a very big rash all over the body do you think it can be an allergy or do you think its chicken pox ? She has nothing on the face so far .. I gave her benadryl and motrin and i bath her with the aveeno oatmeal .. I put her some cream on the body she said she feels better .. But its saturday so no pedetrician until tuesday and im worried ...

Based upon the description provided it appear to be allergic reaction but drug allergy on day 9 is quite uncommon.
The safest option for you is to stop the antibiotics and give him anti allergic medicines like cetrizine etc. You can use acetaminophen if he has fever or pain.
Chicken pox pustules are very itchy and I don't think its chicken pox.
Meanwhile stay calm and stop antibiotics.
