Question : I took a dose of pin x about 2.5 days ago and I have no relief...can I take another dose?

I went to urgent care on the 22nd for anal itching. The dr said it sounded like pinworms so he prescribed me pin x
I went on the 21st. He wanted me to provide a stool sample to make sure I had pinworms and I wasn't able to at the time. I am an over the road truck driver and I had to go back to work. He said take 2 tablets and then another 2 in two weeks. The pin x bottle says to take 3.5 according to my weight. On the morning of the 23rd I took 2 tablets and then about 8 hours later I took the other 1.5 tablets. I still have itching at night and I wanted to know if it would help for me to take another dose?

The right dose for pin.x is 11mg per kilogram of body weight to a maximum of 1gr. The dose has to be repeated two weeks later. Hygiene measures have to be adopted for you and the rest of the family members. If someone's itching too, Treatment is indicated as well.
If pin x was not successful either by taking the wrong dose or because the worm (?) is resistant to it, you can try mebendazole 100mg once now and once more in two weeks.
So I suggest you to try either regimen but be sure to take the correct dose.
