What Causes Loose Bowel Movements?

I had terrible stomach problems and in my lower abdomen with very loose bowel movements for about the last year and a half. then one day I was in the shower and felt something in the area of my anus and it moved! i new immediately what it was and went to the doctor, they prescribed me mebendazole 100mg tabs six of them. i completed my course of meds& my stomach and abdomen pain subsided. my question is while I was on the meds I checked my stool & really cant confirm seeing any worms, is this normal?
