Question : I have redness in my penis tip, but not always. I also get a slight pain in my penis tip,,, but (also) not always. Some days it hurts more than others. The redness mainly happens during erections. Symptoms started after unprotected sex with a female on 05 XXXXXXX 2016. Symptoms started almost one to two days after sex. I am not circumcised. I have had urine culture and STD checks, all negative. What can I do?

Brief Answer:
The redness doesn't appear pathological.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.

It's good you've photos,of the tip, top, bottom and sides of the shaft penis.

The redness you're worrying about, doesn't appear to be significant.
With the STD reports being negative,it's further confirmation of the same.
Hope you're not a diabetic.

To decrease the redness and slight pain, you may take one levocetrizine tablet daily, for about 3-5 days at bedtime.
Drink about 10 glasses fluids daily.
It should reduce your symptoms.

Maintain good penile hygiene at all times.
Avoid moisture over the penis.

Don't use any chemical solutions, to wash the penile organ.
Hope your anxiety is over.

Wish you well. If you wish to close this query, you may rate this answer.

Thank you, Doctor!! I will talk again with my local Urologist. I was just reviewing my lab test results, and the HSV2 was the only STD that I was not tested for. I do not have any blisters or sores. Only the constant penis tip pain, and redness since 05 XXXXXXX 2016. Should I be worried that this could be HSV2, or the diagnosis of 'not appearing pathological' still stand? I just received the results today, and noticed the results did not include HSV2. Should I be worried, or should I continue with the Levocetrizine treatment?

Brief Answer:
HSV 2 or genital herpes,is very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

You take the levocetrizine for 3 days and review after that.
Don't keep looking at the tip daily.
You've partly answered your doubt of HSV 2 also.
You've don't have any blisters or changes in the last 2 months.
A PCR test will rule out or confirm the presence of HSV 2.
But in my opinion, you don't really need to worry about it, at present.

You should be able to notice the changes, unless you're a diabetic.
Wish you well.

Hello Dr. Mangat,

I've followed your treatment for two days but I have noticed no improvement. I forgot to mention the first time, that sometimes I receive a pain almost in my testicles, and behind my testicles. It is sometimes even difficult to sit, because of the pain. I've researched online, and found that Chlamydia can cause Prostatitis, which makes the penis tip become red, and also gives us males some testicle pain. My testicle pain primarily happens when sitting down. Do my symptoms sound like Prostatitis?

Dr. Mangat,

The tip of the penis hurts a little bit too when I touch it or press it.

Brief Answer:
A clinical examination is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

If your symptoms are as you describe, you should get a clinical examination done.
See an Urologist and he can examine the parts, including a rectal examination.(DRE).
One can't rule out Prostatitis, without that.
After the examination,a semen culture also may be done.
Also a TRUS (trans-rectal scan),will need to be done,if indicated.

You may send the report here for an expert opinion.
