Question : I recently started experiencing a sensation in my stomach that is not painful, but there is some distension. I went to a GI doctor 12 days ago and he said that he didn't suspect cancer at this time and we have a upper endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled for late January. Ultrasound of all organs was normal and so was the CBC. H pylori Negative. However, I've traveled to visit my parents far from home...I don't want to worry them but I think I need to do something immediately, I'm freaking out because every time I eat my lower abdomen swells and my upper stomach area also. My abdomen is mid-shapen. My uncle had colon cancer. No other symptoms at all. 11 days on Omeprazole otc and my "inflammation" has only gotten more noticeable.

I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
First, I have to tell you that there are many other causes of abdominal distension other than cancer.
Gastritis, infection, anxiety, colitis, are just a few of the conditions. Other conditions from other systems outside of gi system also cause similar symptoms. These include diabetes , thyroid disorders and even gynecological conditions.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the scopy. But since the tests are normal, I won't worry.
You can take Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day. Take probiotics with it. Take strictly vegan diet low in spice and oils.
Test a CEA and CA 125 if not already tested.
