Question : moderate to severe back pain, left, mid section; also queisi, profuse salivation every 10-15 minutes; shortness of breath, unable to sleep; some pain left front mid section. burping though no food for 8+ hours

Your symptoms seem to be related to gastro-esophageal reflux or gastritis.

The salivation and burping are another argument in favor of this disorder as the main cause of your complaints.

For this reason, I would recommend taking an anti-acid or a PPI (omprezole, pantoprazole, etc.).

If the pain persists, I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- complete blood count
- kidney and liver function tests
- amylase and lipase for pancreatitis
- ESR, PCR for inflammation.

A fibrogastroscopy may be needed.
