Question : I recently had chest pains and as a result in a time span of 21 days in and out of the hospital, the Doctors performed 4 catherizations, 3 stents, a pacemaker and after much suffering and pain I had a Pericardium effusion. Now 7 months later I am experiencing extreme fatigue, feeling of fullness in my chest that irradiates to my back and throat and shortness of breath. Visited the Dr. and he sent me for blood work, chest x-ray and an echo to be performed next week before med appt. on the 27th. I am progressively more tired even taking small steps and moving my arms upward. should I go to emergency or wait for results.

Brief Answer:
Go to the ER

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am concerned as so are you that your weakness and shortness of breath is progressively worsening. This is a sign of congestive heart failure and needs to be seen right away. I do not think you should wait the 1 week to get your results. It is better to err on the side of caution when dealing with your heart.

I recommend that you proceed to the emergency room for evaluation
