What Causes Severe Right Stomach Pain When Previously Diagnosed With Hernia?

Dear sir ,
my mother has hernia problem from last 4 to 5 years in her stomach .
but now from last 2 to 4 days she is feeling seviour pain at her right side of stomach near navel when she eat nothing , slowly it reduces when she head her meal , but it dont go off completely
what could be the cause of it ?
we had consulted a physician a month back an dhe suggested sonography test but after that she did complained any pain so we just thought of doing it later

My mother is at my home town where no such facility available , tomorrow she is going to the doctor .
the pain is little less now after taking pills , right now I have no details or reports with me , can you suggest some tablate for temporary releafe .
I just wanted to ask that for how many days we can delay the operation in general , she is diabetic so immediate operation may not be possible and about one month back she has gone thru cataract operation in her both eyes so we want to wait for some time

She should avoid constipation and cough which will otherwise lead to increased intraabdominal pressure and thus precipitate hernial tendency.

Till then give her tablet pantoprazole 20 mg daily morning empty stomach for at least fifteen days and see the response.
