Question : hello, ive been having a sharp almost stabbing like pain in the back left side of my head that comes and goes along with a constant dull ache and head tenderness for a few days now, I've felt this pain before but usually only lasting a split second and then i don't feel it again for a while. Also my right ear has been throbbing, worse when bending over. I'm not sure what this could be or how to help it Ibuprofen and Tylenol do not help the pain.

Brief Answer:
Ice pick headaches and local infection to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, two are the conditions that should be considered in your case:

1- Ice pick headaches ( or primary stabbing headaches ) one of the headaches types with no underlying causes, seen mostly in migraine sufferers.

2- a local ear infection.

It is necessary to get evaluated by your primary care Doctor first as the first step in achieving a correct diagnosis.

S/he can also order the necessary testings accordingly.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
