Question : Hello, I have 4 or 5 small red bumps on the glans of my penis. They appeared about 34 hours after having unprotected sex. The do not hurt or itch. Could this be an std?

It is possible that this may represent a sexually transmitted infection. It could be early signs of herpes. I would suggest that you see your primary care doctor for a comprehensive sexually transmitted disease test panel. This is especially important since you had an unprotected encounter recently.

Would herpes come on so quickly? Also, could this be a reaction to the IUD my partner is using?

I would doubt this is an allergic reaction to the IUD.

heroes can sometimes present within a couple of days which is why I would suggest an STD screen with your doctor.

Ok, is it possible that these red spots could appear from too much friction? they are not spreading or turning into anything else. they don't hurt or itch. wouldn't herpes be more of a blister like sore?

I would try some
warm soaks in a bathtub for 15-20
minutes a couple of times per day. if this is friction related it might help.

typically HSV does cause sores but not always.
