What Causes Sore Tongue?

Question: I have had a sore tongue for a few weeks. it has a crack in the top towards the tip. it is also smooth in the same spot as though my taste buds in that area are falling off. I have been to the Dr twice with neither of them taking me serious or seem to know what's wrong. tongue cancer?

Looks like Thrush.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
It looks like there is white coating on tongue..
This is commonly due to fungal Infection known as Oral Thrush..
It can cause soreness and irritation of tongue..
Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
In case if it is confirmed as Thrush then you can gargle with Nystatin mouthwash and suck Clotrimazole lozenges..
Take plenty of probiotics like Yogurt..
