Question : I have spontaneous blood spots on my arms and hands. They end up looking like a bruise.

I do not take any blood thinning drugs, I don't have any ironic illnesses, I am on a plant based diet (51/2) years, and these spots don't bleed. They just pop up red, then turn to look like a bruise.

Thank you for providing the requested information. I'd be grateful if you could have sent a photo of bruising spots to me so I could see the details.
Anyway, as you say they pop out red and then become bruising appearance, then, there are 2 things to check:
- your liver through liver blood function tests and abdominal ultrasound
- your skin for vitamins deficiency especially when it comes to vit.D and calcium. A complete blood electrolytes and vitamins balance is recommended as further diagnostic step. Capillaries problems should be also ruled out by angiologist.
A complete blood count is also advise for further evaluation if you have not had any in the last 6 months.
