Brief Answer: Follows. Detailed Answer: Dear Madam, Thank you for posting your query on HCM. Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that there is a possibilty that it coud be a side effect of this drug but what is the cause needs to be establishe . Since you have a lot of gas there is a probability of gastritis going on and you will need to get a USG abdomen , UGI endoscopy done to see for that . Next thing is to get liver function tests done to see if they are affected or not . Get a Serum AMYLASE also done to see any involvement of pancreatitis . You can discuss with your treating doctor regarding this . Silymarin is basically good for liver detox but primary condition needs to be seen that why it is being used . And yes gastroenterologist will be the best person to see this . Take care. Dr. Shruti
