Question : I have been on Bactrim the last four days and my BP has dropped from, normally 117/72 to 99/65. I am a 73 Caucasian male on long term 40mg Micardis and 100mg Tenormin.

As soon as possible
In the meantime, reduce the dose of Tenormin to 50 mg

Most probably, it has nothing to do with Bactrim… it is an incidental event
Fall in pressure at this age with a background of Hypertension, needs investigation – especially heart and kidneys…. ECG and blood tests are necessary

Appropriate treatment demands accurate diagnosis
Diagnosis demands examination; probably investigation too
