Question : LAST NIGHT MY WIFE EXPERIENCED WHAT I CAN BEST DESCRIBE AS A PANIC ATTACK. AFTER A VERY STRESSFUL DAY, SHE STARTED CRYING, BECAME DISORIENTED AND REPORTED THROAT PAIN, CLOSING OF THE THROAT, PAIN IN HER TEETH. SHE WOULDN'T ACCEPT TREATMENT BY EMT OR E.R. SO SAT IT OUT. AFTER AN HOUR OR SO I GAVE HER SOME ASPIRIN (IN CASE OF SOME HEART ISSUE) AND HAD HER SIT UPRIGHT. OVERNIGHT SHE FELT BETTER BUT STILL HAS THROAT PAIN ON LEFT SIDE -- NOT A SORE THROAT. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE PAIN, SHE IS NOT A SMOKER BUT WILL DRINK SEVERAL GLASS OF WINE EACH NIGHT.

I am so sorry to hear about what your wife experienced.

The symptoms do not in the least sound like a heart issue. The pain is not typical or suggestive of a heart attack. Though aspirin is a good medication for both pain and heart issues, it can cause stomach problems.

With no strong symptoms in support of heart problems, I'd suggest that you stop aspirin and go with Tylenol 650mg every 8hours for the neck pain.
