Question : Hi, i am 72 could be in better shape but of late I am having spells of weakness in my legs, even when earlier in the day I am fine. Occasional shortness of breath, quite a bit of swelling in my ankles. Can this be something serious or can I attribute it to "old age" even when I don't feel anywhere near 72?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
What you are reporting may be related to heart failure. Heart failure is associated with weakness, leg swelling and dyspnea.
Heart failure is a serious situation and you should start using diuretics and schedule for cardiologist appointment (For cardiac echo).
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
