What Causes Swelling In Feet While On Nitrofurantoin For UTI?

Question: I was on nitrofurantoin 2 times last month for uti. my feet swelled during the second course of treatment. that cleared up after a while. About 10 days ago one of my fingers turned purple. Now I have a few fingers that are purple. what could this be?
