What Causes Swelling In Vagina After A Cesarean Section?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2016
Question: Hello, I have had two 10lbs babies in 2010 and 2012 (second one a c-section) and have been running and weight training intensively for the past year. Recently I noticed the anterior wall of my vagina feels very thick, almost swollen but there is no pain. I checked my cervix and it seems about an index finger high. I looked in the mirror in a squatting position and I can see the opening of the vagina is covered with what appears to be an organ or organ tissue! I don't have and symptoms aside from lessened sensitivity during sex and small amount of leaking when I skip at the gym. Would you be able tell me what this might be?

Brief Answer:
It could be due to prolapse of the uterus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
Your symptoms are suggestive of uterine prolapse but before giving my opinion I would like to ask a few questions from you.
Are you able to upload the picture for the same ( if you feel comfortable)?
Are you having any urinary symptoms or bowel habbit changes?
Coughing increased your symptoms?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.

Brief Answer:
Most likely uterine prolapse.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am,
I have gone through your picture and it is most likely due to uterine prolapse.
It could be due to so many reasons like chilbirth to ligament tear.
Treatment depends upon the degree of prolapse.
So you should consult a Gynecologist and get your pelvic examination done to rule out the degree of prolapse and took treatment accordingly.
