                                    Brief Answer:
Endometrial thickness
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
At your age, the periods are usually not heavy. In fact most people achieve menopause by 52. I would advise you to have an ultrasound, to rule out any pathology and measure the endometrial thickness. Also i would recommend a pelvic pap smear stain. You may need a D/C if the ultrasound indicates so.
Its better to rule out any early signs of ovarian or endometrial malignancy at this stage.
You should also get your thyroid function test done.
