Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, your symptoms could be related to gastro-esophageal reflux or gastritis. A fibrogastroscopy is necessary to rule in/out this possibility.

Have you tried taking antiacids or omeprazole (PPIs)? Have they improved your symptoms? This would be another argument in favor of these disorders.

Nevertheless, other causes (metabolic, abdominal organs, etc.) should be investigated too.

I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- an abdominal ultrasound
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, kidney and liver function tests, fasting glucose).

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
