What Causes Uncontrollable Swallowing In Throat?

Question: I am having a severe uncontrollable swallowing happening in my throat like i am am not able to stop it. It keeps on forcing to suck on saliva even though there is nothing in mouth even the slaiva get too low in my mouth due to this uncontrollable swallowing in my throat.
My mouth gets so dry because of it and then my soft palate blocks the airway because of it. I feel pain in my throat under the jaws. Because of this uncontrollable swallowing my soft palate and throat get tighten and i feel blockage in breathing. Then i have to suck on saliva to open the blockage to breathe or drink some water. It is like choking feeling in my throat.
I do not know what is going on. Please help.

Brief Answer:
There is no organic cause for uncontrollable swallowing
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,
I feel for you very much because there is no such thing as uncontrollable swallowing. Swallowing can be done at will but it is also a reflex. There is no description in medical literature about uncontrolled swallowing.
Your symptoms may be related to anxiety disorder or even perhaps it may be obsessive compulsive disorder.
I would recommend you to discuss it with your local doctor and if he/she feels right, you can be directed to a psychiatrist.
Feel free to follow up,
Regards,

I do not know why my soft palate feeling pressure and my throat too and while sucking on saliva it is kinda weird feeling like i feel pressure on my palates and i feel like choking and then i have to open my mouth to breathe or suck on slaiva to continue airflow. There is something wrong with soft palate and my throat. It is tightening itself when that reflex happenes. What should i do?
Brief Answer:
see local doctor to rule out organic problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The soft palate moves voluntarily and also moves during swallowing reflex.
I would strongly recommend you to see a local doctor to rule out an organic problem. I do not think there is an organic problem after reviewing your symptoms. Once the local doctor has examined you , he /she can refer you to a psychiatrist if required.
