Brief Answer:
She has got "dyspareunia". It's very easy to cure. It's OK.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

The reason that your girlfriend has these issues after a sexual attempt is because of a problem that almost 15 out of 100 women face while sex. This problem is called as dyspareunia. This is referred to as pain that can occur right from the region of the vagina and vulva upto deep upper abdominal pains.

Practically speaking, I would recommend that you give her Dicyclomine tablets. These are available without prescription. This is a rapid acting pain killer.
This will solve the problem for now. I would say with confidence that there is nothing serious.

However, if you wish to have a regular relationship on a continual basis, then you MUST take her to a gynecologist. This doctor will examine her properly.
Since a physical examination is required, I would suggest that she might be more comfortable with a lady doctor since her question is a women's sexual health problem. It's not a disease, it is rather healthy living practices.

I would not worry at all. If I were you, I would take her to a female physician.
By the way, the doctors degree should end in MD (OBGYN).

All the best,

Brief Answer:
Take her to a lady doctor. All will be comfortable.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

It happens to be that females who suffer from pain during intercourse need the help of 1) A Lady doctor with whom they can be comfortable with. 2) Their partner. I really urge you to go and take her to a OBGYN. This is a doctor who is trained and has an MBBS + MD degree. This problem has to be taken care of at an early stage lest she develop a distaste, revulsion or hatred for normal sexual relations with her partner. You, that is. If you find the word OBGYN confusing then women refer to OBGYN doctors as "Gyno's".

This is definitely not a first time experience. At maximum there can be bleeding due to perforation of the hymen.

Give her some Bruffen tablets. For the pain and the swelling. This is only temporary.

There are no home remedies that have proven themselves in this case.

There is nothing embarrassing to go to a lady doctor, who will understand the situation and keep everything confidential.

Regards,
Dr. Neel Kudchadkar.
