Question : nan has cirosis of the liver and heart failure shes on medication for reducing the fluid in her legs and abdomen shes often feeling nauseas has lost heaps of weight and now shes becoming forgetful shes usually right on the ball mentally ..her pwesonallily has changed somewhat ..we see a gp and attend hospital as needed ..could you tell me what are the signs of late stages of her disease. i rearly keep asking for advice but get no clear picture of things its hard to do the right thong when i am in the dark i understand that cases differ but surely theres some clear signs i can be aware of please advise me thank you

Hi and thank you for asking on HCM!

I read carefully all her concerns and I am sorry for the situation she is in.
You are reporting that she has abdominal liqiud and edema on legs.
These signs means that she has end stage liver disease and /or severe heart failure.
You are reporting that she has changed her personality. To my opinion she has hepatic encephalopathy. it is another sign that she is has end stage liver disease.
Otherwise in clinical practice Meld Score is use to predict 3 months mortality rate and the severity of the case.
To calculate it i need to know her medical data like:
creatinine, bilirubine, INR and sodium.
I need to know also if she is on dialisis or not.

Otherwise on line calculation for Meld score can be done by yourself.
