This is serious disease and late consequence of liver failure and actually this cant be cured since permanent brain damage develops. However, it can be slowed down with procedure called porto-hepatic shut and you shoul d consult hepatic surgeon about its availability in your area. Liver transplant i another option but not palusible.
Diet should be balanced and healthy. he should limit high-carb foods such as bread, grits, rice, potatoes, and corn as well as fats and fried food.
Diuretics and silimarin are medications that may benefit him.
