Question : I had my gallbladder removed on 9-11-14. Prior to that I had bile duct obstruction caused by a stone. That was removed with ERCP. Within the last week I have noticed that my urine is really yellow, sometimes almost neon. First thing in the morning it looks alright. I am not taking any new vitamins. I eat a lot of raspberries and blueberries with my cereal in the morning. This has been happening for the last week or so. I also had cataract surgery a week ago and I am using eye drops, both steroid and non-steroid, plus an antibiotic. I just want to give you an idea what I am using. What could be the cause of the change in urine color?

                                    Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to decreased intake if fluid
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
The cause of discolouration of Urine is unlikely to be drops or antibiotics you are using. The cause could be following
1. Decreased intake of fluids
2. Intake of Raspberries /Blueberries : As the discolouration is occurring later on in the day , this could be the likely cause
3. Rarely Obstructive Jaundice
If Jaundice is ruled out then there is no cause for concern.
I would suggest you to increase the intake of fluids to 2 to 3 liter a day. The discolouration of Urine should be taken care off.
Wishing you great Health
